“LORD, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.” Psalm 90:1-2
Though our lives in this world are brief, the LORD God is from everlasting to everlasting. “In Him we live, and move, and have our being” (Acts 17:28). He holds our very breath in His hands (Dan. 5:23). How important it is that we remember what Moses here tells us!
O eternal God, grant that we see the brevity of our lives and our continual dependence upon You. Move us to live our lives in reverence of You, trusting in Your mercy for the sake of Christ Jesus, our Savior. Amen.
