But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. Hebrews 3:13
We, being deceived by Satan, often take sin lightly as though it can cause us no harm. We need to exhort and encourage each other every day against the dangers of dabbling in sin for, as James writes, “Every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death” (James 1:14-15).
Give me wisdom, O God, to shun every sin and evil lest I be deceived by sin and suffer eternal death and damnation. I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
