“I made a covenant with my eyes. Why then should I think upon a maid?” Job 31:1
Job understood that to look upon and desire a woman who is not one’s wife is adultery and contrary to God’s purpose and design in creation (cf. Gen. 1:26-28; 2:18-25; Matt. 5:27-30) and therefore made a covenant with his eyes not to look upon a young woman that he might lust after her.
Forgive me, O God, for sinning with my eyes, for wicked longings and desires, and cleanse my heart that I might use my eyes to Your glory and praise. In Jesus’ name. I pray. Amen.
