“He said to me, ‘These are those who came out of great persecution and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore, they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them. …’” Revelation 7:14-15
After seeing pictures of God’s judgments upon this world, the Apostle John, in Revelation 7:9-17, is given a glimpse into heaven and sees an innumerable multitude of those who died in the faith, worshipping before the throne of God and Christ Jesus, the Lamb of God. They stand in God’s presence only because their sins have been washed away in the blood of the Lamb. They are counted pure and holy in God’s eyes through faith in Jesus and His cross. Therefore, they are before the throne of God and serve Him day and night in His temple, and God dwells among them.
O gracious and merciful God, thank You for the gift of Your Son and His innocent sufferings and death in my stead that I might look to Him in faith, have my sins washed away in His blood, and be clothed in His perfect righteousness. To You be the glory forever and ever! Amen.
