“But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil. Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me.” Psalm 92:10-11

Though the unbelieving and rebellious may appear to prosper, the LORD lifts up those who are penitent and trust in Him for mercy and salvation. And, if not in this life, certainly on the day of judgment, believers will see the downfall and judgment of their wicked and unbelieving adversaries.

Have mercy on me, O LORD, and grant to me Your grace and blessing for the sake of Christ Jesus, who died for me and rose again. Amen.

“But thou, LORD, art most high for evermore. For, lo, thine enemies, O LORD, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.” Psalm 92:8-9

The LORD reigns over all forever and will not be cast down, but those who oppose Him and His Word will be scattered and perish forever.

O LORD, grant that I humble myself before You, repent of my sins, and look to You for mercy for the sake of Christ Jesus, Your Son, and my Savior. Amen.

“A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this. When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever …” Psalm 92:6-7

Most do not see or understand that God will judge the wicked and unbelieving. Though they may prosper now in this world, their judgment and eternal condemnation are soon coming!

Give me understanding, O God, to see that those who live in impenitence and sin will soon be condemned and that only those who repent and look to You for mercy and forgiveness in Christ Jesus and His cross will be saved. Amen.

“I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?” Job 31:1

Job understood that to look upon and desire a woman who is not one’s wife is adultery and contrary to God’s purpose and design in creation (cf. Gen. 1:26-28; 2:18-25; Matt. 5:27-30) and therefore made a covenant with his eyes not to look upon a young woman that he might lust after her.

Forgive me, O God, for sinning with my eyes, for wicked longings and desires, and cleanse my heart that I might use my eyes to Your glory and praise. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: and that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: after that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.” 1 Corinthians 15:3-6

Not only is Jesus’ crucifixion a well-documented historical fact, but His resurrection was also witnessed by many. If anyone in the first century questioned the fact of Jesus’ bodily resurrection, there were many living eyewitnesses to His resurrection appearances who could testify to the fact that Jesus did rise from the dead on the third day, as He said. And, because He did die for our sins and then rise again, we can be assured of forgiveness of sins and a resurrection to life everlasting through faith in His name.

O crucified and risen Savior, grant me faith to trust in You and Your death for my sins and Your bodily resurrection for pardon and the eternal joys of heaven. Amen.
