How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!” Romans 10:14-15
How important it is that pastors or preachers be called and sent to proclaim the gospel of peace through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ and His atoning sacrifice on the cross! Without preachers of the gospel, few will hear of Christ Jesus and His sacrifice for sin, and few will believe, for “faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Rom. 10:17).
O gracious God, raise up faithful preachers and move us to support the preaching of the gospel that the good news of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ may be heard by people in every place. Amen.
