Man's attempts to escape God's rule are futile

“He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the LORD shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.” Psalm 2:4-6

Though the peoples of this world and their rulers rebel against the LORD God and seek to keep Him from ruling over them, He laughs at mankind’s futile attempts to escape His rule and His judgment. The LORD God has installed His own King (His only-begotten Son) over His Church, and His Son is even now establishing an eternal kingdom made up of all who trust in Him for salvation (cf. Dan. 2:44).

Have mercy upon me, O God, and grant that I cease rebelling against You and place my faith in Your Son that I might receive Your pardon and forgiveness and a place in Your everlasting kingdom. Amen.

[Scripture is quoted from the King James Version of the Bible.]
