“Whoever says he is in the light but hates his brother is in darkness even until now. Whoever loves his brother lives in the light, and in him there is no cause for stumbling. But whoever hates his brother is in darkness, and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.” 1 John 2:9-11
A person who acknowledges his sins and looks in faith to Jesus Christ for pardon and forgiveness will also, as a fruit of faith, love his brother. In fact, a person cannot be a Christian and continue to hate his brother.
O gracious God, wash away my sins in Jesus’ blood and cleanse my heart that I might love those for whom my Savior shed His holy and precious blood. Amen.
