I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will guide you with my eye. Do not be as the horse or as the mule, which have no understanding, whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near to you. Psalm 32:8-9
When we confess our sins to the LORD and look to Him for pardon and forgiveness in Christ Jesus, He forgives our sins and also teaches us to walk in His ways, His Spirit instructing us with the words of Scripture. But God adds a warning to us not to be like a horse or a mule which needs a bit and bridle to get it to come near us and go where directed.
Forgive our transgressions for Jesus’ sake and teach us to live in accord with Your Word, O LORD, and keep us from foolishly going our own ways. Amen.
