“Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. Though a sinner doeth evil an hundred times, and his days are prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, who fear before him: But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God.” Ecclesiastes 8:11-13
Because God is patient with those who disobey His Word, giving them time to repent, many assume God will not judge them, and they continue their evil ways. Yet, in the end, God will judge, and it will be well for those who repent of their wicked ways, looking to God for mercy, and then honor Him with their lives. However, it will not go well for the disobedient who refuse to repent and continue in their wicked ways.
Give me wisdom, O LORD, to see the end of my evil ways. Move me to fear and honor Your name by repenting and looking to You for mercy in the atoning sacrifice of Christ Jesus, Your Son, and my Savior. In His name, I pray. Amen.
