“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were created through Him, and without Him nothing was created that was created.” John 1:1-3
The Word, identified in verse 14 of John 1 as “the only begotten Son of the Father” who took on human flesh and lived among us, was already in the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth. He “was with God,” and He “was God.” He was there in the beginning with God the Father and the Holy Spirit of God. “All things were created through Him, and without Him nothing was created that was created.” The only-begotten Son of God, who, in time, took on human flesh and became a true man in the person of Jesus, is the eternal God, our Creator, and our Redeemer.
Christ Jesus, You are the eternal Son of God, my Maker and my Redeemer. Grant that I worship and adore You for who You are and place my faith in You and Your atoning sacrifice on the cross for my salvation. Amen.
