“And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, to keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good? Deuteronomy 10:12-13
The LORD God has redeemed us from our evil and sinful ways by the death of His Son in our stead, and He has called us to Himself, to be His own special people. What does He require of us as His redeemed children? To honor and respect Him as our Maker and Redeemer, to walk in His ways, to serve Him with all our heart and soul, and to obey all that He commands us in His Word.
O LORD God, thank You for the gift of Your Son, for His holy life and innocent sufferings and death on the cross to redeem me from sin and death. Grant that I trust in Him and fear, love, and trust in You with all my heart and soul. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
